I was all set to rant about Jessica Simpson’s lack of talent, that Vanity Fair had made a poor decision in giving her the cover of Vanity Fair (a weird choice after President Obama; Paul Rudd, Seth Rogan, Jason Segal and Jonah Hill; and Gisele Bundchen), thinking it was funny when she went from Daisy Dukes to filling out some mom jeans, then feeling bad when the media really went to town on her and her mom jeans and made a big deal over her weight gain, and then all coming back to the fact that I don’t really like her and this was all a waste of my time.
But then Vanity Fair got me with this:
She didn’t want to talk about her weight, so, of course, that’s all I could think of—it gilded each question in my mind: What are you working on now [that you’re fat]? Do you see yourself as part of a class, with Christina and Britney [or are you too fat]? Do you feel that your relationship with Tony Romo has affected his performance as a quarterback [because you are fat]?
So I kept reading the article. To sum it up, she’s at the precipice of fame and has-been, she finds Tony Romo simple, she hasn’t spoken to Nick Lachey in years and her father is a diabolical mastermind. Now you don’t have to.
